Welcome to The Patcham Gardening Network!
Do you enjoy gardening?
Would you like to join a group to share knowledge, skills, plants and much more?
The Patcham Gardening Network is a group of local gardening enthusiasts who meet once a month to share and enhance our gardening knowledge. We invite experts to give talks and workshops, organise trips to gardens, and open up our own gardens for members to visit. We are building a community for local gardeners of all abilities to indulge their passion further.
Membership is open to all at £24 per year. Please Join Us!
Details of all our meetings can be found on our Events page.

The Great Big Green Week
PGN will be teaming up with the Repair Café on Saturday 13th June as part of the Great Big Green Week, organised by the Climate Coalition, a mass movement for nature and climate in the UK. The work of both our groups; recycling, reusing, community building, sharing knowledge, protecting and promoting wildlife and nature, all contribute to the week’s theme, Let’s swap together for good. The event will showcase what our two groups do, and encourage more people to join us.
The Repair Café will be offering their repair and recycle service with an emphasis on gardening equipment, tool cleaning and sharpening. There will be fabulous cakes!
PGN will be promoting our community meetings where we share horticultural knowledge, and our practical activities which include tree planting, wildflowers for bee highways, and support for horticultural projects in our area. Local grower Alison Packham will be selling her Patcham-grown plants.
Join us at the Community Centre 10.30am - 1.00pm.
Our next meeting
On Wednesday 24th June we will be joined by Jodie Bryan from Caley Brothers Mushrooms for The Hidden World of Fungi: How Mushrooms Support Soil Health, Biodiversity and Sustainable Food Production.
Her talk will explore the fascinating role fungi play beneath our feet, from supporting plant growth and healthy soils to their importance in the natural ecosystems. Jodie will share insights into mushroom cultivation, the differences between wild and cultivated fungi, and how we as gardeners can encourage beneficial fungi in our own gardens.
Jodie co-founded Caley Bros with her sister, Lorraine, and together they grow gourmet mushrooms in West Sussex, produce grow-at-home mushroom kits and deliver workshops and talks across the UK.
Join us in Patcham Community Centre from 7pm, members free, visitors £5.

Open Gardens
We are hosting two open events in late summer, the first is an open garden, the second an open allotment. Have a look at our Garden Visits page for full details.
